This was the last week of our second phase teaching practice. We left the school on Friday. Hindi assembly Monday ; Today was the death anniversary of Hindi write Premchand. So there was a special assembly to come memory to is contributions to lecture a revolved and it was conducted by the Hindi club of the school the whole assembly was conducted in Hindi including the prayer and pledge. It was a different experience for us. Silent observance Tuesday; Vakkam Purushothaman a prominent Congress leader and politician passed away the school paid respect for him through a silent prayer for 1 minute. Also, Today I conducted achievement test for class 9. The marks of achievement test was distributed to the students on Wednesday. Most of the students were above average but the result was not up to my expectations. I pointed out the mistakes they have committed and cleared any doubt they had. Second last week of our teaching practice after. One week we have to leave the school and go back to your colleges. Chandrayan launch On Monday there was a special assembly conducted by the social science department of the school in the context of chandrayan satellite launch. Children presented paper on the topic and it was an informative session about the advancement of science in India. Diagnostic test Tuesday a was a rainy day. Today I conducted my diagnostic test to the students. Children performed well. They were happy to do so. I disturbed the marks of diagnostic test Wednesday the next day. There was a quiz program for the students organised by vidyarangam sahityavedi. On Thursday there was a special assembly in association with the remembrance of the anniversary of APJ Abdul Kalam. Sixth Week Next round of Class Observation At the start of the week, our optional teacher, Reetha Ma'am had paid a visit to the school for the class observation. Since my classes were already observed by the teacher during her previous visit, I was kind of free. She went to observe both Resmi's and Anjana varma's classes, and made remarks based on their classes. She gave suggestions to improve the classes further and later had a chitchat with the rest of us. During the last period , I went to class VIII along with Indrajith. Accompanying my peers to the classes gave me a new and different feeling each time, to be as a supporting peer, to make remarks and suggestions, to improve myself as a teacher, to gain new insights into the teaching process and practice, etc. The next day , I had utilized some time to observe the class of Anjana Varma. Fifth Week Visit by Desabhimani team The school had organized a special assembly in the beginning of the week as the day had a visit by the Desabhimani newspaper team. The head of the team talked of the importance of reading in our daily lives and they also had sponsored newspapers to the school library. And that was an appreciable and noteworthy effort they took to spread knowledge and reading habits among the little children. Peer observation I had observed the classes of both Anjana Varma and Resmi . Resmi succeeded in creating a good rapport with the students and she used effective strategies and activity cards that ultimately turned out as the ones that generated interest among the learners. The students were vibrant and active. Anjana varma's class was also good . She managed to maintain discipline and to make the class effective.
