SCVBHS CHIRAYANKEEZH WEEK 5 (10 JULY 2023- 14 JULY 2023)
Fifth Week
Visit by Desabhimani team
The school had organized a special assembly in the beginning of the week as the day had a visit by the Desabhimani newspaper team. The head of the team talked of the importance of reading in our daily lives and they also had sponsored newspapers to the school library. And that was an appreciable and noteworthy effort they took to spread knowledge and reading habits among the little children.
Peer observation
I had observed the classes of both Anjana Varma and Resmi . Resmi succeeded in creating a good rapport with the students and she used effective strategies and activity cards that ultimately turned out as the ones that generated interest among the learners. The students were vibrant and active. Anjana varma's class was also good . She managed to maintain discipline and to make the class effective.
Class Observation by Reetha Ma'am
Since PTA meetings were going on for the 8th standard students, we were asked to engage all the 9th standard students and it turned out to be a hectic and exhausting schedule for us. On the same day, we had the optional class observation and I had advised my students to be active and vibrant in the class. I had my class observation in the third hour . I felt so satisfied ,happy and proud on seeing the positive remarks that the teacher had provided in the observation schedule.
The next day, 10th standard students were having their PTA meeting and the teachers were engaged and busy setting it up. So, we were advised to take care of the rest of the classes and I, along with Resmi had conducted quiz programmes for the students as a way of spreading team spirit, co-operation and knowledge among the students. Moreover, on the next day, we had made the students to participate in a word game to develop their language skills. They were asked to make maximum number of meaningful words from a main word given to them . It was so entertaining for the students and they enjoyed it well except a few who looked inactive and were not participating in the game. But we ensured their participation also.
On the next day, I had observed the classes of Anamika and Rajalakshmi. Anamika had a good rapport with the students and her entry activity was also good. She could create a good learning experience for the students. Rajalakshmi also used good strategies but she was found struggling to maintain discipline and the class could have been more good . I felt that a little bit of improvement is required.
