SCVBHS WEEK 2 (19 JUNE 2023- 23 JUNE 2022)

Second week

Reading Day Celebrations
The school had conducted Reading day celebration and the chief guest of the programme was the retired teacher from Njekkad school , Mr. Muhammad Ullas, the wonderful orator and story teller. He did motivate and inspire the students as well as the teachers with his extraordinary speech and narration . That turned out to be the highlight of the day , who through his thought provoking speech, communicated the significance of reading habit in the digital era. The classes continued as usual after the programme . And I had one substitution hour in the morning.

International yoga day was celebrated and the special assembly started with the welcome speech by HM. A renowned Yoga master was the chief guest and the physical education teacher , Mr. Anil presided the function. To add more colours to the assembly, Siddharth S of VIII C had introduced a new book as part of observation of the reading month, and one of the teachers had sung a beautiful song in relation to music day. To add extra colours to the day, a " double observation" was awaiting us   and we got excited to see both our optional teacher as well as one of our general teachers for the class observation and it turned out to be a  'double observation '.

The next day started with the assembly conducted by social science club and the chief guest of the function was Sri Ummar, the famous Gandhian who talked of the importance of spiritual values in leading a peaceful life. I , personally , felt it awkward and unimportant in the scientifically advanced world. The session lasted for
almost two long hours and it turned out to be so tiring and we all felt exhausted too. Later, I went to VIII A and VIII D and engaged them with some language games .

The next day was International Olympics day and the physical education teacher provided immense information on importance of sports in our daily lives, history of Olympics and about the upcoming Olympic venues.  A paper presentation was done by one of the students, Abhishek S of VIII C , on Dengue fever and it's preventive measures.  Moreover, the school observed a dry day and most of the students were engaged in cleaning activities and we also were  a strong and active part in that.
This week was filled with special occasions, that had gifted us a handful of experiences and memories to take it from here.
